Nishant Kumar
I build interpretable AI for resilient urban mobility systems. My work combines machine learning, simulation, and network analysis to study congestion, mobility services, EV charging, and transport infrastructure.
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore in Dr. Prateek Bansal's BeCoS Lab. My research sits at the intersection of urban computing, transport AI, and interpretable machine learning.
Previously, I was a PhD student at ETH Zurich in Prof. Dr. Martin Raubal's Mobility Information Engineering Lab, where I worked on large-scale mobility data, interpretable modeling, and transport infrastructure analysis.
Research Themes
Urban Computing & Mobility AI
Data-driven methods for understanding and predicting urban mobility patterns, congestion, and transport system performance.
Interpretable Machine Learning
Explainable models and analysis frameworks that connect predictions to actionable transport and planning insights.
Resilient & Sustainable Infrastructure
Research on EV charging, mobility services, automated mobility, and the robustness of urban transport infrastructure.
